Day camps for children and youths in preschool through high school will be scheduled as one-day to five-day programs. A variety of camp themes have been developed by camp directors, including sports, art, dance, fitness, science, Legos, rockets, diggers, and princesses. Many of the five-day camps will end with an optional visit to Lititz Springs Pool.

For indoor adventure, recROC, located on the Rock Lititz campus, 201 Rock Lititz Blvd., Lititz, will host four weeks of bouldering, obstacle, and fitness camps for youths age 8 and up. Trying new activities, self-challenge, and games with peers will be part of these five-day camps.

New this year will be a partnership with Take Heart Counseling's Equine Therapy program in Denver. Local teenagers in middle school and high school can spend a day with horses, learning about and experiencing therapeutic riding.

Older teenagers seeking to develop leadership skills are invited to join the summer camp staff at Lititz recCenter as junior counselors to shadow and assist seasonal camp counselors.

For busy families seeking child care options for the summer, full-time and part-time options for children in preschool through grade six will be available through the recKids Child Care Program. This program will include optional field trip days, visits to local parks and playgrounds, and swimming time daily indoors at Lititz recCenter or outdoors at Lititz Springs Pool. Care will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays until Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2.

Summer swimming lessons will be available in the morning at Lititz Springs Pool in June and July for youths age 3 and up. Swimming lessons will also continue throughout the year at the Lititz recCenter indoor pools.

For children planning to participate in the Lititz recCenter Youth Triathlon or Pretzel Twist Kids' Run, running practice and tracking miles were slated to begin in May. Children may register to receive a Kids' Mile Marathon tracking sheet, which they will use to track their running activity through the summer. Registered children will complete a final mile at the Pretzel Twist 5K and Kids' Mile Marathon on Saturday, Sept. 21. Children can also compete in the Lititz recCenter Youth Triathlon on Friday, Oct. 4. The event will mimic a real triathlon, with age-appropriate distances for swimming, biking, and running.
