Donations of nonperishable food items will be collected at all library programs and events throughout the summer to support the Cocalico Food Pantry (REAL Life Community Services).

Teen SummerZine will meet via Zoom on Tuesday, July 19, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Youths ages 12 to 19 will work with three Pennsylvania authors, who will offer prompts and a real-time look at their writing process.

"Chalk the Walk" Underwater Scenes will be held on Saturday, July 9. Visitors of all ages may drop in from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and pick a sidewalk square in front of the library to create a beautiful, imaginative underwater adventure. A celebrity judge will award prizes. Chalk will be provided.
Drop-In STEM will be offered on Monday, July 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. for Lego Club and Adventure! Blue Ocean. Participants will explore science, technology, engineering, and math through games, activities, and projects with Miss Maribeth. An adult is required to accompany children under age 8.
Lego bag pickup for children ages 5 to 12 will be held on July 11, while supplies last. The bag will include instructions for a special project. Supplies are limited, so one bag per family is requested.
A nature show will be held on Tuesdays, July 12 and 19, at 10 a.m. at Refreshing Mountain Retreat, 455 Camp Road, Stevens. Attendees of all ages will hear all about Pennsylvania native creatures and exotic creatures from around the world.
The Genealogy Group will meet on Tuesday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m. The program is for adults and older students who have an interest in researching family history and learning more about online resources for genealogy research.
Talewise Pirates: "Lost at Sea" will be held on Wednesday, July 13, at 10 a.m. at Adamstown Grove. The program is open to children in kindergarten through grade five. Volunteers from the audience will help explore the science behind clouds, combustion, air pressure, and more through science experiments.
Teen Take and Make Packet Pickup will be held on Monday, July 18, while supplies last. July's project will be self-esteem bookmarks.
"It's Crummy: The Story of the Railroad Caboose" will take place on Tuesday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m. Adults and teens will learn some railroading history with the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
"Budding Bookworms" Preschool Story Time with Miss Maribeth will meet on Wednesdays, July 20 and 27, at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and is open to children ages 2 to 5.
Adamstown Pool Story Time and book checkout will take place on July 20 at 1 p.m. at the pool pavilion. A library card is required to check out books. A pool entrance fee at a discounted rate or membership is required.
Tom Schalata, retired newspaper executive from Stevens, will give a presentation on his latest book, "The Bloody Bucket," which chronicles his grandfather's military service in Pennsylvania's 28th Division in World War I, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 23. Based largely on actual events, the work of historical fiction covers the period of 1916 to 1918. The program is suitable for adults and older teens.
Reptile Explorers will take place on Tuesday, July 26, at 10 a.m. at Adamstown Grove. Attendees of all ages will learn from Jesse Rothacker and his band of castaway critters, including snakes, lizards, turtles, and crocodiles from around the world.
