LSHS Honors Students

Lampeter-Strasburg High School (LSHS) has recognized students as Pioneer Superlatives and Students of the Month for their achievements during March.

Pioneer Superlatives were junior Aliza Howe and senior Jarrett Emmerling.

Aliza, the daughter of Thomas Howe of Akron and Pamela Kinsey of Lancaster, is a member of the LSHS marching band, National Honor Society, the Enigma Club, the Philosophy Club, and the distinguished honor roll. Aliza received a Scholastic Gold Key for her science fiction/fantasy writing and a Burrowes Scholar award for English Language Arts. Outside of school, she volunteers at Conestoga View Nursing and Rehabilitation and plays guitar. Aliza plans to study computer science in college.

Jarrett, the son of Gregory and Cindy Emmerling of Lancaster, was a member of the STEM Club, Quiz Bowl team, play/musical set construction crew, and distinguished honor roll. He received recognition as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and a South Lancaster Rotary Club Student of the Month. He plans to study mechanical engineering in college and to enter the space industry.

Students of the Month were sophomore Lexi Wise and senior Nicolas Lopez-Erazo.

Lexi, the daughter of Yvonne Perry of Willow Street, is a member of the LSHS Aevidum Club and was also a Student of the Month at Martin Meylin Middle School. Lexi volunteers at church and is involved in dancing and gymnastics. She plans to pursue a career as a marine biologist.

Nicolas, the son of Maximo Lopez and Paulina Erazo of Willow Street, has been an honor roll student and finalist of the stock exchange competition at his previous school in Ecuador and has been an honor roll or distinguished honor roll student since arriving at LSHS. Nicolas volunteers at Main Street Closet. He plans to study business administration and finance at Millersville University with the goal of pursuing a career as a financial adviser.
