Those who cannot make it to their polling place on Election Day should request an absentee ballot. If a voter does not want to go to his or her polling place on Election Day, he or she should request a mail-in ballot. Any qualified voter may apply for a mail-in ballot without a reason. Absentee ballots require a reason.
Applying is fast and easy. The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is Tuesday, May 26, for the June 2 primary. Mail-in ballots may be hand-delivered to the county's elections office by 8 p.m. on June 2 when polls close.
