The Donegal Music Association will present the Green Nation Band Celebration at the Donegal Athletic Complex, 1025 Koser Road, Mount Joy, on Saturday, Sept. 21. The gates will open at 4 p.m., and the show will begin at 5 p.m.
The show will feature 15 high school marching bands from eight counties in central Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including Donegal High School (DHS). In addition to DHS, the participating schools will be Bishop McDevitt, Upper Dauphin, Halifax Area, Pottsgrove, West Perry, Mifflin County, Central Dauphin, Mechanicsburg, Shamokin Area, Susquehanna Township, Central Dauphin East, Biglerville, Northern Lehigh, and Oakcrest high schools. Tickets will be available to purchase at the gate, with separate prices for adults and for students and senior citizens.
The Green Nation Band Celebration is a qualifying event for seeding in the Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championships held in Hershey and Harrisburg in late October and early November. That program will feature high school marching bands from nine states.
Refreshments will be available for purchase at the event.
