MASD Plans Medication Drop-Off Event

Aug 21, 2019 - 5:00 pm

Middletown Area School District (MASD) will host a Medication Drop-Off Night on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. to encourage parents to deliver medications and all required medical documentation to their child's school prior to the first day of school.

Per MASD's policy, no prescription medication or over-the-counter medication will be administered by school personnel without a parent or guardian's signature and specific written instructions from a physician.

Medications and paperwork not received on Drop-Off Night may prevent a child from receiving their medications on the first day of school. Updated immunization information may also be brought to the school during this time.

Attendees should bring a completed student medication form; a written physician's order for each medication, including over-the-counter medications; all medications in the original labeled containers; and proof of immunizations, if applicable. These items should be dropped off in the nurse's office at Fink, Kunkel or Reid elementary or in the lobby at the middle school or high school.

For more information, readers may call Dr. Chelton Hunter at 717-948-3300, ext. 1008.
