The Lancaster County Master Gardener Hotline is a free service offered through the Penn State Extension Office to help Lancaster County residents with gardening questions and concerns. Master Gardener volunteers answer questions on a variety of topics, including growing vegetables, fruits, ornamentals, and turfgrass; plant identification; pruning; and insect and disease problems.
To help with identification and diagnosis, plant and insect specimens can be brought to the Extension Office at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. Digital photos for plant or insect identification can also be emailed to the office along with questions.
Email is checked on weekdays. Individuals should call ahead when bringing a plant sample as the hotline is operating partly remote and partly in person. To receive assistance from a Master Gardener, contact lancastermg@psu.edu or 717-394-6851.
