The Vietnam Veterans of America and Associates Chapter 1008 of Lancaster will hold a wreath laying and ceremony on Sunday, May 26, in honor of Memorial Day. The event will take place rain or shine at 1 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, 719 Highland Ave., Lancaster, at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The public is invited to attend.
The memorial, which is maintained by the chapter, was erected in the early 1980s in honor of Lancaster County Vietnam veterans who gave their lives in service to their country.
The Vet 21 Gun Salute will present a rifle salute and taps, and memories of the individuals honored on the memorial will be shared. Family members and friends may participate.
