All children ages 7 to 11 and their parents or guardians are invited to participate in the HighHOPES Miniature Horse Challenge at Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA), Station Road, Grantville, on Saturday, May 1, from 9 to 11 a.m.
The course is designed to promote healthy choices, effective communication skills, problem-solving and volunteerism using equine-assisted (horse-assisted) learning. Horse experience is not required. Children will experience hands-on, fun activities, while learning proper horse grooming and handling. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed.
The program is offered free of charge, although donations to CATRA will be accepted. A limited number of slots are available. To register, email robin@catra.net and include the parent or caregiver's name, address, phone number, and email address and the child's name and age.
