Mixed-Up Cabaret Planned

Apr 05, 2019 - 8:00 pm

Performing Arts Studio will present the fifth annual Mixed-Up Cabaret on Friday, April 5, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 6, at 2 and 8 p.m. at 315 W. James St., Lancaster.

Mixed-Up Cabaret will feature excerpts of musicals performed in unexpected ways. Some songs and scenes will feature performers in roles in which they would not typically be cast because of age, gender, race, voice, or body type. Songs from musicals for both stage and screen will be featured, including new takes on songs from classic shows like "Singin' in the Rain" and "Carousel," as well as more contemporary musicals such as "Matilda" and "The Book of Mormon."

Mixed-Up Cabaret is jointly directed by Juliana Alfano, Debra Macut, and Michael Popovsky, with musical direction provided by Francois Byers.

The cast will include Aaron Combs, Alana Halliday, Alexandria Fernandez, Audrey Whisman, Brandon Rexrode, Carolyn Rice, Emma Kilgore, Holly Serio, Jessica Hanner, Josey Terry, Kara Hartman, Kate Zimmerman, Kathy Lubbers, Kelly Milligan, Kyleigh Simmons, Maddie Ciliento, Maranda Miller, Melina Stratigos, Nathan Todd, Riley Fidler, Sarah Goe, and Tessa Zimmerman, with performances from special guests.

Concessions will be available.
