MSMJ Winterfest Set For Dec. 7

Dec 07, 2019 -

Get into the holiday spirit this weekend at Winterfest in Mount Joy! Main Street Mount Joy (MSMJ) will present the 22nd annual event on Saturday, Dec. 7. Winterfest is scheduled to run from 4 to 7 p.m. and is a free public event. Winterfest will be located along Main Street between Delta Street and Barbara Avenue.

Music on the main stage is set to start at 4:15 p.m. and continue through 6:45 p.m. Music acts include Mary Mother of the Church Children's Choir, Donegal School District Rhythm Singers, Johnny Presto, and Donegal High School Alumni Band. St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Mount Joy is providing a walking choir, which will also perform Christmas carols at the tree lighting. Ukulele Uprising will lead Christmas carols through the crowd.

There will be numerous food vendors at Winterfest, so attendees should come with an appetite. People may also enjoy snacks along the street and cookies provided by churches. Business and organization vendors will line the streets to provide information, fun, and additional entertainment. There will be a Kiddie Train Ride available for children age 12 and under.

Santa Claus will be available to meet with community members from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Sheetz Funeral Home, 16 E. Main St. Visitors may take their own photos with Santa.

Winterfest is sponsored by Lanco Federal Credit Union, a 2019 Diamond Sponsor of MSMJ; Members 1st Federal Credit Union; Wellington Chase Apartments; and Penn State Health. Sheetz Funeral Home is the event's Santa sponsor.

MSMJ is looking for volunteers to help set up and clean up Winterfest. Interested individuals may contact the office at info@mainstreetmountjoy.com or 717-653-4227.
