Museum Adds New Programs

North Museum of Nature and Science, 400 College Ave., Lancaster, will expand its early childhood programs to include Little Explorer and Me, STEM Story Time, and Preschool Picassos: Merging Art and Science. All of these programs are intended for children ages 2 to 5.

Little Explorer and Me will meet on the last Wednesday and Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon and will provide educational activities for preschool-age children in the museum's Nature Gallery. This program is free with the price of admission and offers physical, craft, and tactile activities specifically aligned to each month's museum-wide theme.

STEM Story Time pairs the concepts and audience of Little Explorer and Me with a live story presentation from a member of the museum's Education Team. The program will meet on the second Wednesday and Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon and will provide preschoolers with new science and nature concepts and vocabulary. Hands-on activities will be included.

The newest program, Preschool Picassos: Merging Art and Science, will allow children to discover scientific concepts through art. The program will be held on the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. As children experiment with paints, clay, and paper, they will not only learn about science, but they will create unique works of art.
