The Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania will sponsor two customized Rambles in 2022. Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Rates are based on double occupancy.
A Colorado Rockies Ramble will be offered from Tuesday, Sept. 13, to Tuesday, Sept. 20, with an optional two-day extension on board the Rocky Mountaineer luxury train. Ramble highlights will include train rides on the scenic Pikes Peak Cog Railway, vista dome service on the Royal Gorge Route Railroad, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, and the Durango & Silverton Railroad, as well as visits to the Colorado Model Railroad Museum, the Garden of the Gods, the Colorado Railroad Museum, Arches National Park, and Canyonlands National Park.
The cost of the Colorado Rockies Ramble includes round-trip airfare between the designated airports, baggage handling, applicable taxes and gratuities on included features, seven nights of hotel accommodations, seven breakfasts, three lunches, five dinners, chartered motorcoach transportation, and a travel escort. Registration is required before Tuesday, Feb. 15.
The Colorado Rockies Ramble extension includes two days aboard the Rocky Mountaineer through canyons, deserts and more between Moab, Utah, and Denver, Colo. This experience features glass-dome coaches and all-daylight train travel with SilverLeafPlus service. One breakfast, one lunch, one dinner, and one night's hotel accommodation are included.
A Blue Ridge Ramble will be held from Wednesday, Oct. 5, through Saturday, Oct. 8. The ramble will travel through the scenic mountains of Maryland and West Virginia, and the trip will include train rides on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, the Cass Scenic Railroad, the Greenbriar Wilderness Train and the New Tygart Flyer, as well as visits to the Green Bank Observatory and the West Virginia Railroad Museum. Travelers also will enjoy dining experiences at the Victorian-era Graceland and Halliehurst mansions on the campus of Davis & Elkins College.
The cost of the Blue Ridge Ramble includes three nights' hotel accommodations, three breakfasts, four lunches, three dinners, applicable taxes and gratuities on included features, chartered motorcoach transportation, and a travel escort. Travelers must register before Friday, Aug. 19.
