The Winters Heritage House Museum, 47 E. High St., Elizabethtown, is planning an exhibit on the Great Depression and how it affected the Elizabethtown community. The exhibit will be on display from Friday, Aug. 30, to Friday, Sept. 20.
Local residents are invited to contribute Depression-era items, images, or memories. Some of the displays the museum is developing are focused on Depression glass, feed sack fabric and clothing, and other manufactured or handmade items from that time period. The staff is also seeking recipes and home remedies that were popular.
To lend items or share memories, call the museum at 717-367-4672 or stop by the museum on Wednesdays through Fridays between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. All items lent to the museum would be returned by Monday, Sept. 30.
