This summer, the Winters Heritage House Museum, 47 E. High St., Elizabethtown, has slated two different weaving classes, both of which are geared toward 12-year-olds through adults.
The first will focus on basket weaving techniques and will take place on Thursday, June 6, beginning at 2 p.m. Participants will make a napkin basket. The instructor will be Donna Bucher.
The second class, set for Thursday, July 11, at 1 p.m., will introduce beginning weavers to basic loom weaving skills. Participants will learn to warp a loom (prepare it for weaving) and then try out several weaving patterns on a floor loom. The class is limited to four participants.
There is a registration fee for each class, and further information can be found at http://www.elizabethtownhistory.org. Participants should plan to register no later than a week prior to each class.
Winters Heritage House Museum is located a half-block from the Elizabethtown square. There is free parking in the designated lot behind the museum. The museum may be reached at 717-367-4672.
