Museum To Host Heritage Days

Railroad Heritage Days are set for Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, 300 Gap Road, Strasburg. The family-friendly event will feature a presentation and book signing by Scott Mingus, author of "Targeted Tracks: The Cumberland Valley Railroad in the Civil War, 1861-1865," on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.; the operation of HO- and N-scale model train layouts; an educational and historical display; a Studebaker truck in Pennsylvania Railroad livery from Ken Briers; blacksmithing demonstrations by Frank Gillespie; and a coloring/activity table. A number of historic locomotives and railroad cars will also be open for visitors to experience.
