New Location, Same Mission

Freedom Thrift On 30 Schedules Grand Opening

Kelly Lynch, general manager of Freedom Thrift, a subsidiary of Revelations of Freedom Ministries (ROFM) in Blue Ball, and Yvette Lee, visual merchandiser, are looking forward to the grand opening of Freedom Thrift on 30, 2853 Lincoln Highway East, Ronks, on Saturday, March 12. A ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m., followed by light refreshments and door prizes until 2 p.m. Shopping will continue until 6 p.m.

Both Lynch and Lee are mindful of the clientele at the new store, which is located in a tourist area. "We are catering to the taste of those customers," noted Lynch of the boutique-style store.

"Our mission is the same," Lee pointed out. "We realize it's a ministry that affects all families, but in different ways," she said. ROFM is a faith-based, Christ-centered discipleship program for men who struggle with addictions. "We hope that (mission) will resonate with our tourist customers as it does with our local customers," she said. Lynch agreed, noting that the second location will allow the organization to raise more funds for the work of the ministry. Lynch, who will manage both stores, joined Freedom Thrift in December 2021. Lee was instrumental in the opening of the flagship store in 2019.

The new store will include clothing for men, women, and children, along with accessories for women and toys for children. Lynch is especially excited about the men's clothing area, which Lee has been working to coordinate. "(Lee) has a vision for the men's area that is rustic and includes historic pieces, sports memorabilia, and a helicopter model," she noted, adding that a projector showing vintage movies may be included.

Adjacent to the men's clothing will be an area that will include an art wall, books in a built-in bookcase, some furniture, and a coffee maker. "This will be a community corner with local information and ministry information," said Derek Hahn, marketing coordinator with ROFM. "If a client is waiting to be seated at Dienner's (Restaurant, adjacent to the shop), they can come over here to shop and relax and just feel welcomed in Lancaster County."

Seasonal home decor will have a section near the front window, and Lynch noted that selected housewares will be mixed throughout the store. The overall space in the new location is 8,000 square feet, but the thrift store will only utilize the first floor for the time being.

Donations will not be accepted at the new store, but can be taken to the New Holland location, 114 Ranck Church Road, New Holland, on Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Freedom Thrift will pick up large donation items by arrangement. Those who have large items to donate may call 717-356-0831.

Freedom Thrift on 30 will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Volunteers will be needed to staff the store during those hours. Individuals wishing to volunteer may email kellyl@freedomthrift.org. To reach the Freedom Thrift on 30, readers may call 717-686-9387.
