The award is open to individuals who have overcome challenges through adversity or obstacles involving economic hardship, physical disabilities, physical and/or mental illness, and more, as well as caregivers who have exhibited attributes worthy of recognition in delivering special care for those individuals described above. These individuals may fall under the category of parent, extended family member, coach, counselor, physician, social worker, neighbor, benefactor, and more.

A panel of judges will review the nominations and select awards recipients. Individuals interested in nominating an individual or group must complete a form and return it to the Volunteer Center by 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15. Awards will be presented on Thursday, April 18, at a special event.
