OneRunTogether's "Ready, Set, Glow!" 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, July 24, beginning at 9 p.m. at the Honeybrook Golf Club, 1422 Cambridge Road, Honey Brook. During the event, participants will be able to run or walk on the golf course's cart path, which will be illuminated with lanterns. Each participant will receive a glow necklace or bracelet.
All 5K participants will be timed and eligible to place in their age group. The awards ceremony will begin at 10 p.m. Live music will also be featured at the start and finish of the event.
There will be separate registration fees for adults and children ages 5 to 12. Children age 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
All proceeds from the event will benefit OneRunTogether (ORT), a nonprofit organization that financially and spiritually supports local cancer patients in need. The charity was started by Vern Murphy, who lost his wife, Beth, to breast cancer in 2009. The charity's motto is "OneRunTogether - so no one fights cancer alone."
