Open Stage Posts Poirot Mystery

Open Stage, a professional theater company in Harrisburg, is closing out its all-streaming season with "Poirot Investigates!: The Affair at the Victory Ball," based on the short story "The Affair at the Victory Ball" by Agatha Christie. The show is available to stream through the "Open Stage at Home" program through Sunday, April 18. Watch parties will be available on Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. and on Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m.

Open Stage's five staff members created this fully produced show, complete with costumes, props, and a set. Stuart Landon plays the eccentric and tidy Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, and Chris Gibson, Rachel Landon and Benny Benamati play the other characters. The story revolves around two baffling deaths during a Victory Ball, a lavish reception and dance that also happens to be a masquerade party, where every guest is a costumed character. The highly stylized interpretation of Poirot's world features a unit set and heightened characterization.

This is Open Stage's second installment of "Poirot Investigates!" The first was "The Adventure of the Western Star," which premiered in November 2020.

The show may be viewed for free, and donations will be accepted. Open Stage also provides an option to join The Inner Circle, a monthly subscription service that gives members perks and behind-the-scenes looks at the making of the season, as well as full access to all shows in The Vault from the past season.

Information and tickets are available at http://www.openstagehbg.com. The show may be viewed at the aforementioned website or through Open Stage's Facebook and YouTube pages.
