Center for Parent and Youth Understanding (CPYU) founder and president Dr. Walt Mueller will present "No Parent Left Behind" on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Eden Resort and Suites, 222 Eden Road, Lancaster. Conestoga Valley Church of Christ will sponsor the event.
CPYU's goal is to help adults and teenagers understand the media world in which they live together. CPYU helps adults work with their teenagers in appreciating what it is their teenagers like about their media and to be discerning about the negative side of media and its potential to harm. CPYU shows how to do this from a position of informed respect and also shows how to learn how to work together on the same team.
Mueller has written nine books, including "Youth Culture 101"; "99 Thoughts for Parents of Teenagers"; "The Space Between: A Parent's Guide to Teenage Development"; "Opie Doesn't Live Here Anymore: Where Faith, Family, and Culture Collide"; "Engaging the Soul of Youth Culture: Bridging Teen Worldviews to Christian Truth"; "I Want to Talk to My Teen About Movies, Music and More"; and "Understanding Today's Youth Culture."
Parents, grandparents, teachers, youth workers, and anyone interested in learning about the world of today's teenagers - especially the media culture of today's teenagers - are invited to attend.
