Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer programs to the community. Unless otherwise noted, there is a per-person fee, and activities will take place at the Environmental Center in Lancaster County Central Park, 1 Nature's Way, Lancaster. Animal Olympics, for people of all ages, will be held on Saturday, July 31, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Participants will learn about animals' physical abilities and have opportunities to show their own skills.
Native American Olympic Games, for people of all ages, will be offered on Sunday, Aug. 1, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and on Monday, Aug. 9, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Participants will play Native American games using natural materials.
Animal Habits, for people of all ages, will take place on Friday, Aug. 6, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will be led on a walk through the fields and forest and along Mill Creek. Special attention will be given to animal signs.
Summer Wildflower Walk and Seed Bomb Craft, for people age 6 and up, has been set for Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Participants will take a hike in search of summer wildflowers and learn about local flora. The group will also make seed bombs that can be planted at home.
Munchkin Science: Summer Hike, for children ages 3 to 5, will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 1 to 2 p.m. Children will explore nature along the Scout Trail.
