LifePath Christian Ministries, in partnership with the York County Sheriff's Office, presented the "Refuse to Be a Victim" program to guests in the organization's Women's and Children's Shelter on Aug. 8. Lt. Dave Godfrey and Sgt. Shannon Martz were presenters for the program, with 13 women and two children enrolled.
The seminar is a formal educational program that is designed to provide people of all ages and backgrounds with techniques, applications, strategies and options they can use to help ensure their personal safety. Topics include home security, protection systems, prevention strategies, self-defense options, the psychology of predators and mental preparedness.
