The York Chapter, American Guild of Organists will present two educational events designed to provide children and adults a hands-on opportunity on how a pipe organ operates and is constructed, along with the opportunity to assemble and a play a pipe organ from a prepackaged kit. Guild members will be on hand to help with assembly, which will take up to 90 minutes.

Sessions will be held on Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 25 W. Springettsbury Ave., York, and on Sunday, March 31, from 4 to 6 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York. Both churches offer free admission and parking.

Piano students, organ enthusiasts, teenagers, adults, and anyone curious about how a pipe organ works are encouraged to attend and participate. Participants will assemble prepackaged parts, keyboard and pipes and then hand-pump bellows while the organ is being played. This will be followed by the demonstration of each church's large sanctuary pipe organ.
