The Presidential Lecture event, "James Buchanan and the White Man's Republic," will take place on Friday, Nov. 22, in Ryder Hall at LancasterHistory, 230 N. President Ave., Lancaster. Dr. Joshua A. Lynn will discuss how James Buchanan and fellow Democrats influenced the populist politics of racial and gender backlash that still echo in modern day American politics.
A speaker's reception and book signing by the author will take place at 4 p.m., followed by the main presentation at 4:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required to guarantee a seat.
