In celebration of Indigenous Peoples' Day on Monday, Oct. 11, Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation will hold an activity at the Environmental Center in Lancaster County Central Park, 1 Nature's Way, Lancaster, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. People of all ages may participate.
Naturalist Stevie Kitching will share information about the peoples who occupied what is now the United States before Christopher Columbus arrived. Participants will learn about the indigenous tribes that lived in local areas and discover medicinal plants they used, artifacts found nearby, and games that youths would have played. Crafts and games will be included in the program.
