Program To Focus On Rail Trails

York County Economic Alliance will present its June Economics Club Breakfast as a virtual event on Wednesday, June 24, at 7:30 a.m. The program will be a panel discussion on rails-to-trails programs in Pennsylvania.

The panel will consist of Diane Kripas, division chief for the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources; Gwen Loose, executive director of the York County Rail Trail Authority; and Tom Sexton, regional director with the Rails to Trails Conservancy. They will talk about the economic and community benefits of converting former rail lines to multi-use trails. York County Economic Alliance's vice president of economic development, Silas Chamberlin, will also share details about the recently launched York County Trail Towns program that will leverage the Heritage Rail Trail to promote economic growth for the businesses and towns along the trail, as well as all of York County.

Following the program will be a question-and-answer session open to attendees. To register, readers may visit http://www.yceapa.org and click on "Calendar" under "Events & Resources."
