Program Will Spotlight Reptiles, Amphibians

The Musselman Vesta Iron Furnace Center, 26 Furnace Road, Marietta, will host a program on reptiles and amphibians, collectively known as herptiles, on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. The program is one of the Vesta Summer Nature Lectures.

Attendees will learn the differences between reptiles and amphibians as well as the important roles that they each play in their environments. Students will examine snake skins, turtle shells, and hatched snake eggs. They will also learn frog calls. The presenter will share information about venomous snakes that live in Pennsylvania and how to avoid problems with snakes.

The free program is open to the public. Donations will be accepted.
