Public Library Plans Programs

The community is reminded that September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. Readers are encouraged to stop by the library to register for a library card if they do not already have one. To learn more, readers may visit http://www.ilovelibraries.org/library-card.

Keep Calm and "Plarn" On will meet on Thursdays at 1 p.m. Attendees will create sleeping mats for individuals in need using plastic grocery bags.

Crochet Along With Kasey will meet to begin a new project, a baby blanket using the shell stitch, on Tuesdays, Sept. 17 and 24. The Nifty Needles Knitting Club will gather on Thursdays, Sept. 19 and 26, at 7 p.m., and knitters of all skill levels are invited to bring scissors, needles, and yarn.

Preschool Pals, for young children and their caregivers, will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, Sept. 16 and 23. The program will include stories and a simple craft.

Family Movie Night will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. The featured movie will be "The Secret Life of Pets 2."

The Prime Timers will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m. Mayor Leo Lutz will be present to update attendees on the latest projects and activities in Columbia Borough.

Story Time With Hank: "Teeth" will be held on Sept. 26, at 10:30 a.m. The program is designed for children ages 2 to 5 and will feature a puppet show.
