The Tie Dye 5K Run/1-Mile Walk will be held on Sunday, June 9, at 8:30 a.m. at John Rudy Park, 400 Mundis Race Road, York. The event will be held on a cross-country course at the park, and live Grateful Dead music will be provided by Josh Leik.
Awards will be provided for the overall top male and female finishers, as well as the first-, second-, and third-place male and female finishers in various age groups. Dogs are welcome to participate.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the American Heart Association. The race is held in memory of Mark Mulcahy, who died of a heart attack at the age of 54 in 2013. His wife, Michelle Mulcahy Fischer, and their daughters started the race in June 2014 to raise money for the American Heart Association and to raise awareness about heart disease. The 2019 event will be the sixth annual race, and the event has raised more than $71,000 for the American Heart Association in its first five years.
