Hempfield recCenter, 950 Church St., Landisville, will hold a Community Day on Sunday, March 3. The event is free, and the facility will be open to the public from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The annual event invites the community to discover the many services and programs the nonprofit organization offers. There will be classes, special events and special promotions throughout the day.
Group exercise classes will include yoga at 8 a.m., Bodypump at 8 a.m. and Bodyflow at 9 a.m. The aquatics center will present Aqua Spin and Aqua Stand-Up try-it classes from 9 to 10 a.m.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., various community organizations will be onsite with information, free screenings and giveaways. Boxing, along with Peak Sports Training demonstrations and free try-it sessions, will also take place during that time. Additionally, program directors for Summer Day Camp and Summer Playground will inform parents about the child care options, activities and summer camps available through the center.
For children ages 4 to 12, there will be organized games in the gym from 11 a.m. to noon. Parents are welcome to take a tour, work out or swim while the children are active and engaged.
Family Zumba will take place at noon, with Family Yoga following at 12:45 p.m. During this time, Lancaster Barnstormers mascot Cylo will be onsite for photo opportunities.
During March, new members who sign up for an annual membership will pay no activation fee, plus get their 13th month free.
