Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer programs to the community. Unless otherwise noted, there is a per-person fee, and activities will take place at the Environmental Center in Lancaster County Central Park, 1 Nature's Way, Lancaster. Additionally, registration and payment are required by noon on the business day before the event. Unbe"leaf"able Fall Foliage Crafts will be offered to participants of all ages on Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. A naturalist will lead a short hike to collect materials to make various fall leaf-themed crafts.
Mysterious Creatures of the Night will run from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24. Participants will uncover mysterious creatures of the night and make gallon jug creatures to take home. The program is geared for families, but everyone is welcome.
Munchkin Science: Trees and Their Leaves will be offered to children ages 3 to 5 on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 1 to 2 p.m. Participants will learn to identify five tree species living in the woods around the Environmental Center. After collecting leaves, attendees will use the leaves to make a leaf painting.
