The York County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer recreational programs to the community. The programs will take place at the Nixon County Park Nature Center, 5922 Nixon Drive, York, and registration is required, unless otherwise noted. Nature Play Drop-In programs for children will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, and Saturday, Jan. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants may dress up, use puppets, touch and feel natural objects, explore with short scavenger hunts, and be creative. Various play stations will be set up inside the nature center. There is no fee, with no registration required.
A Watercolor Class for Beginners program will be offered on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. The focus will be on landscapes, and wildlife artist Teanna Byerts will lead the session. All supplies will be provided. A fee has been set per participant.
