Renovators' Home Tour Planned

Oct 06, 2019 - 11:00 am

The fourth annual Renovators' Home Tour, benefiting Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity, will feature clever use of space and innovative design ideas through renovations in Manheim Township and Lancaster homes on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A total of 17 homes, five in Manheim Township's Grandview Heights neighborhood, will be part of the self-guided tour. In addition, homeowners will be on hand to talk with guests about the decision-making process behind their renovations.

The tour is designed to present a diverse selection of homes and renovations. The lineup includes do-it-yourself projects, as well as professionally executed work.

An example of DIY teamwork can be found in James and Lauren Michaud's home, located on McGrann Boulevard in Grandview Heights. Despite only living in the home two years, the young couple has utilized their talents for the visual arts, wood crafting and iron work throughout their home. James, a teacher in the Manheim Township Middle School, custom built much of the furniture in the home and used trees from their property as the material.

There is a fee for the tour. Tickets and event information are available at http://www.renovatorshometour.com, as well as David Lyall Home and Design and Penn Stone, both located in Lancaster, and Lancaster Habitat ReStore, 155 Independence Court, Lancaster. Advance tickets will be discounted. All proceeds will benefit Lancaster Lebanon Habitat and its local, affordable homeownership efforts. The event will be held rain or shine.
