Jim Roberts of Mount Joy will compete in the 2022 One Lap of America. Through his participation, he will support the PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC).
Roberts and his transit driver - who will again be fellow car enthusiast Gary "Duck" Drake from the Cincinnati area - will travel to race tracks in Indiana, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Kansas and then back to Indiana. Roberts and Drake will travel about 3,200 miles for the event and almost 4,600 miles by the time Roberts arrives home again. Along the way, they will compete against over 80 other teams. Roberts has competed in One Lap of America for 12 years and has raised over $38,000 in total for PBCC's research programs and services.
Stickers that will decorate the roof of Roberts' Corvette can be purchased for a donation, which will benefit the PBCC. The donor name will be listed on the sticker, or donors can purchase a sticker in honor or memory of a loved one. To make a donation by credit card, readers may visit http://www.pabreastcancer.org/one-lap-of-america/. Readers may also donate at Jim Roberts West Main Auto, 14 W. Main St., Mount Joy.
