Schmidt To Exhibit Photos At United Zion

United Zion Retirement Community's Art Gallery is exhibiting "The National Parks of the West," an art show by landscape photographer John Schmidt. The exhibit will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Tuesday, Nov. 30. United Zion is located at 722 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz.

All the photographs in the exhibit have the same aspect ratio and format as Schmidt believes this choice encourages people to spend more time observing the detail and features in the images.

Schmidt has been a photographer since childhood. He studied photographic science while attending the State University of New York in Farmingdale, Long Island, and then worked at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, N.Y., for 20 years. He has been inspired by photographers Louis Daguerre, Mathew Brady, Margaret Bourke-White, Ansel Adams and Annie Leibovitz.

All Art Gallery visitors will be screened and are required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth.
