The 56th annual Distinguished Young Women of York event will be held on Sunday, Aug. 8, at The Pullo Center in York. Distinguished Young Women is a scholarship program for high school girls.
The Aug. 8 event will feature five areas of competition: academic achievement, interview, talent, fitness, and self-expression. Nearly $40,000 in scholarships will be awarded to accomplished students in the York community.
Distinguished Young Women places an emphasis on excellence and rewards young women for their academic achievements. Participants are leaders in their school and community, as well as role models for all youths. In addition to the scholarships awarded, the program serves as preparation for college and careers.
Any young woman who is in the junior class of her high school and who resides in York County may apply. The application deadline is Thursday, April 1.
