School Debuts Positivity Awards

In lieu of a senior homecoming court, the Hempfield High School Student Council decided to honor five seniors who are going above and beyond to make Hempfield a positive, happy place. On Oct. 16, the Student Council presented the school's first Positivity Prevails Awards, which celebrated five individuals for their effort and character and for finding ways to be optimistic and uplifting during the current challenging times. The honorees are Celia Familia Baez, Trinity Gruber, Eric Hess, Hannah Kirk and Bella Rankin.

Students were asked to nominate a senior using an online form, which required nominators to provide a brief description of why the nominee deserved the award. In total, 57 students were recommended. The winning students received gift cards to local restaurants.
