Lower Dauphin High School seniors Joshua Given and Carolynn O'Donnell were named Students of the Month for March by the Rotary Club of Hummelstown.
Josh is the son of Nicole and Matthew Given. He is a four-year member of the Believers in the Gospel group, serving as a student leader for three years. He is a two-year co-captain and four-year member of the cross-country team. Josh has participated in the choral program throughout high school. He is a three-year member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, a two-year member of the National Art Honor Society and a member of the National Honor Society. He is also a two-year member of the indoor drumline and the Mini-THON committee. In the community, he has volunteered with Deep Rivers Church, and he illustrated a 24-page children's book titled "Bigger Little Brother" in the summer of 2021. Josh plans to major in animation at college.
Carolynn is the daughter of Stacy and Mark O'Donnell. She is a four-year member of her school's Envirothon team, which placed first in Dauphin County last year. She is a three-year member of the track and field team. Carolynn is a three-year member of the National Science Honor Society and a two-year member of the National Latin Honor Society. In the community, she volunteers with Study Buddies, a Lower Dauphin Communities That Care after-school program that pairs high school mentors with elementary students who need help with homework. She plans to major in molecular biology with the goal of becoming a geneticist.
