Students Observe Red Ribbon Week

The Bear Creek School recently observed Red Ribbon Week. A variety of special activities took place during the week, including wearing red to school and creating an Act of Kindness banner to demonstrate the students' commitment to a healthy and safe learning environment.

A national event occurring annually during the last full week of October, Red Ribbon Week focuses on educating children about health choices, especially the decision to avoid drugs and alcohol. The Red Ribbon celebration brings millions of people together each year to raise awareness regarding the need for alcohol, tobacco, drug and violence prevention; early intervention; and treatment services.
