LMS Sets Benefit Auction, Golf Tournament

Lancaster Mennonite School (LMS) has posted two upcoming events. Proceeds from both will benefit students through the school's Annual Fund.

The elementary campuses of LMS, Locust Grove and New Danville have joined to host an online benefit auction that will be open for bidding from Monday, April 26, at 8 a.m. through Friday, April 30, at 8 p.m.

Items up for bids will include original artwork from local artists, community experiences, toys, themed gift baskets, and gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses. Featured items include experiences like a hot air balloon ride and a day rental in a 1966 convertible Ford Mustang; gift cards to local restaurants and businesses like Rachel's Creperie and Lemon Street Market; live trees, shrubs, and flowers; quilts; handmade items; gift sets from Ten Thousand Villages and Cocalico Creek; and unique projects by each elementary and middle school class.

LMS' 25th annual golf tournament will be held at Meadia Heights Golf Club, 402 Golf Road, Lancaster, on Wednesday, May 12. Registration and breakfast for the morning round will start at 7 a.m., and the round will conclude with lunch and prizes at noon. The afternoon round will begin with a light lunch at noon and end with dinner and prizes at 6 p.m.

Golfers will have the opportunity to purchase mulligans and enter putting and chipping competitions. There will also be a prize for any player who obtains a hole in one at a designated hole. Team, individual skill, and door prizes will be awarded after each round. Team prizes will be awarded for men's, women's, mixed, and seniors' teams. A mixed team is defined as a group of four with at least two women. A senior team must have three golfers who are age 65 or older.

COVID safety precautions will include mask wearing, social distancing, temperature checks, and meeting health screening requirements.
