Scouts Attend Camping Event

Recently, Boy Scout Troop 48 attended the Daniel Boone Patriot Days Camping event. Since 1967, thousands of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire members, and members of other youth groups have gathered annually for one weekend in June at the Daniel Boone Homestead in Birdsboro to meet new friends and share in a unique camping experience.

Programming in the past has focused on Red Creek wildlife raptors, geocaching, an Exeter Police K-9 demonstration, Native American culture, homestead tours, paintball, volleyball, cooking contests, sawmill demonstrations, a first aid challenge, and a guitar workshop. As in previous years, Troop 48 participated in the various competitions and events. Troop 48 Scouts won first place in the areas of volleyball, campsite, cooking contest, and first aid competition, along with second place in campsite gateway.
