Scouts Will Collect Food Donations

Each year, the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts of Mount Joy participate in Scouting for Food. On Saturday, Nov. 9, more than 75 Scouts will begin placing door hangers at every residence in Mount Joy asking for food donations. The Scouts will return on the following Saturday, Nov. 16, to collect food donations.

Current food bank needs include canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, rice or rice mixes, cake or pancake mixes, powered milk, and cereal.

Last year, the Scouts collected 922 bags of food from the Mount Joy neighborhoods and delivered them to the Mount Joy Food Bank.
