Valentine's Day, Friday, Feb. 14, will also mark Second Friday on Penn Avenue in West Reading. Shops and restaurants will serve up delights throughout the day and also be open late.
Community members may start the day at Fleet Feet, 705 Penn Ave., with its morning Doughnut Dash. The event, which will have a 6:30 a.m. start, will take participants on a guided run through the Wyomissing Park system, and the run will be followed by coffee and doughnuts at the store.
Opening at 10 a.m., Muddy Creek Soap Company, 608 Penn Ave., will celebrate its fourth anniversary with refreshments and by offering 20% off the entire store.
New World Jewelers, 438 Penn Ave., will host the last day of its storewide 50% off sale on Feb. 14.
Many restaurants will offer special for couples. In addition, Nitro Bar, 416 Penn Ave., will host an Anti-Valentine's Day Party with local merchants MADE Jewelry, Betula's Botanica, and Holistic Skateshop. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., and attendees may enjoy dinner and stay for a free concert at 9 p.m. by The Horrornauts.
