Senior Center Plans Activities

Stewartstown Area Senior Center, 26 S. Main St., Stewartstown, has announced its upcoming schedule of activities. For more information, readers may call the center at 717-993-3488.

On Wednesday, May 29, Barb's aerobics class will meet in the fellowship hall from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Representatives of York County Area Agency on Aging will hand out food vouchers to those who qualify from 9 to 11:30 a.m.; this is the only day the vouchers will be available at the center. Mary Ellen will be available to assist with painting ceramics. Table games will be played throughout the day, and the Bridge Club will meet at noon.

On Thursday, May 30, Barb's aerobics class will meet in the fellowship hall from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A nurse will be available to check blood pressures and weights. Kings in the Corner will start at 9:30 a.m. The Chair Yoga class will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wii games will be available throughout the day. Both the art class meeting and Hand and Foot will start at noon. The podiatrist will be available after lunch to perform routine foot care.

On Friday, May 31, Barb's aerobics class will meet in the fellowship hall from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Bocce ball will be played at 10:30 a.m. After lunch, bingo will be played.

On Monday, June 3, a group will head to the York Galleria. Barb's aerobics class will meet in the Community Building at the fairgrounds during the summer. Wii games will be available to help people prepare for the Senior Games coming up later in the month.

On Tuesday, June 4, Barb's aerobics class will meet in the Community Building at the fairgrounds. The senior center will celebrate the June birthdays at noon. Table and Wii games will be available throughout the day. Doug will be available to assist with computer issues after lunch. Pinochle will be played in the afternoon. The senior center will start a six-week diabetes education class; the program will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
