Senior Center Plans Activities

Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, has planned a variety of activities. For more information or to make reservations for meals or attendance, readers may call the center at 717-367-7984.

Face masks and social distancing are no longer required. Reservations are required and must be made two days in advance. Donations will be accepted at the door.

The senior center serves lunches at noon on Mondays through Fridays. Reservations are required two days in advance.

On Thursday, Sept. 23, the senior center will offer coffee, table games, and puzzles at 8:30 a.m.; a ring toss at 9:30 a.m.; team trivia with Bob at 10:30 a.m.; and pinochle at 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be orange-glazed pork loin, rice, California blend vegetables, and pineapples.

Seniors may visit the center on Friday, Sept. 24, for coffee, table games, and puzzles at 8:30 a.m.; breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.; a Bible study or table games at 9:30 a.m.; and a town meeting at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be vegetable lasagna, a tossed salad, and peach crisp.

Activities on Monday, Sept. 27, will be coffee, table games, and puzzles at 8:30 a.m.; breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.; shuffleboard at 9:30 a.m.; a craft at 10:30 a.m.; and Walk With Wendy at 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be a barbecue turkey burger, a salad, and fresh fruit.

On Tuesday, Sept. 28, the senior center will offer coffee, table games, and puzzles at 8:30 a.m.; darts at 9:30 a.m.; and "My Favorite ..." at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be a Western omelet, breakfast potatoes, and an English muffin.

The schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 29, consists of coffee, table games, and puzzles at 8:30 a.m.; walking at 9 a.m.; and Jenga or Aggravation at 9:30 a.m. Lunch will be meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, and raspberry sherbet.
