Senior Center Posts Schedule

The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, invites area seniors to its upcoming programs. The center, a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging, is open regularly on Mondays through Fridays. Interested individuals may call the center at 717-367-7984 for more information or to make reservations.

The schedule on Thursday, May 16, will include walking at 9 a.m., Healthy Steps for Older Adults from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and pinochle or bridge at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be antipasto salad with tomato, ham, salami, and mozzarella; beets; a whole-grain dinner roll; and sunset peaches.

On Friday, May 17, there will be walking at 9 a.m., a Bible study or a visit from Mrs. Legore's class at 10 a.m., and the TGIF dinner at 5 p.m. Lunch will be a bacon bleu burger on a roll, creamy potato soup, and a fresh apple.

The center schedule on Monday, May 20, will include walking at 9 a.m., ladder golf at 9:30 a.m.; Strength, Stretch, and Balance at 10 a.m.; bingo at 10:30 a.m.; and pinochle at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be a sweet sausage sandwich with pepper and sauce on a whole-grain roll, cheesy hashbrowns, and fresh melon.

On Tuesday, May 21, the center will offer walking at 9 a.m., a morning stretch at 9:30 a.m., Nutrition With Donna at 10:15 a.m., and Reminisce - 1940's at 1 p.m. Lunch will be roasted pork with Dijon mushroom sauce, vegetable rice pilaf, green beans, wheat bread, and pineapples.

The center's activities on Wednesday, May 22, will include walking or pancakes at 9 a.m., Wii Bowling or Advisory Council at 10 a.m., and Lunch Bunch at King's Amish Farm or table games at 11 a.m. Lunch will be Salisbury steak with gravy, cheddar whipped potatoes, sweet peas, white bread, and pears.
