The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, invites area seniors to its upcoming programs. The center, a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging, is open regularly on Mondays through Fridays. On Thursday, June 13, activities will include walking at 9 a.m., craft class at 10 a.m., Mind Matters: Memory As We Age at 10:45 a.m., and pinochole at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be Santa Fe salad with mixed greens, chicken, roasted vegetables and cheese, a dinner roll, tortilla soup, and pineapple tidbits.
Activities on Friday, June 14, will include walking outside at 9 a.m., Bible study or table games at 10 a.m., Vaughn's trivia challenge at 11 a.m., and a T.G.I.F. dinner and pinochle party at 5 p.m. Lunch will be breaded pollock filet, vegetable barley pilaf, carrots, wheat bread, and fresh oranges.
The schedule on Monday, June 17, will include walking at 9 a.m., laddergolf at 9:30 a.m., bingo at 10:30 a.m., and pinochle at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be bratwurst with mustard on roll, sauerkraut topping, potato salad, baked beans, and an apple pie slice.
On Tuesday, June 18, the center will offer walking at 9 a.m., a morning stretch at 9:30 a.m., shuffleboard trivia at 10:30 a.m., and Staying Hydrated This Summer at 1 p.m. Lunch will be mild buffalo chicken salad with shredded lettuce on a roll, minestrone soup, and fresh melon.
Activities on Wednesday, June 19, will include walking at 9 a.m., chair exercise at 9:30 a.m., Wii bowling and medication take-back at 10 a.m., advisory council at 10:30 a.m., Central Penn commodity food boxes at 1 p.m. Lunch will be an egg omelet topped with cheese, a sausage patty, breakfast potatoes, a whole grain English muffin with jelly, and orange juice.
