The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, invites area seniors to its upcoming programs. The center, a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging, is open regularly on Mondays through Fridays. On Thursday, June 20, activities will include walking and a picnic with the Alliance youth group at 9 a.m. Pinochle will be played at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be an open-faced meatloaf sandwich with gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, wheat bread, and sherbet.
Activities on Friday, June 21, will include walking outside at 9 a.m., Bible study or table games at 10 a.m., a town meeting at 11 a.m., and a TGIF dinner at 5 p.m. Lunch will be mandarin and cranberry chicken salad with mixed greens, cucumbers, and blue cheese; a whole-grain dinner roll; three-bean salad; and a cookie.
The schedule on Monday, June 24, will include walking at 9 a.m., shuffleboard at 9:30 a.m., Trivia With Bob at 10:30 a.m., and pinochle at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be potato-crusted pollock, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, wheat bread, and fresh melon.
On Tuesday, June 25, the center will offer walking at 9 a.m., a morning stretch at 9:30 a.m., bingo at 10:30 a.m., and Reminiscing Vacations at 1 p.m. Lunch will be a turkey and cheese sandwich with lettuce and tomato on a whole-grain sandwich roll, fresh broccoli salad, and applesauce.
Activities on Wednesday, June 26, will include walking at 9 a.m., chair exercise at 9:30 a.m., Wii bowling and medication take-back at 10 a.m., Lunch Bunch at Vinnie and Pat's and at Rita's at 11 a.m., and a ukulele band at 2 p.m. Lunch will be pineapple-glazed ham, whipped sweet potatoes, green beans, wheat bread, and sliced pears.
