Senior Center Sets Activities

Stewartstown Area Senior Center, 26 S. Main St., Stewartstown, has announced its upcoming schedule of activities. For more information, readers may call the center at 717-993-3488.

On Wednesday, July 10, Barb's aerobics class will meet in the Community Building at the fairgrounds. At the senior center, a Veterans Services officer will be on hand from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer questions by appointment. Mary Ellen will be available to assist anyone who would like to paint ceramics. Participants may request specific items to paint. The bridge club will meet at noon.

On Thursday, July 11, Barb will lead her aerobics class in the Community Building at the fairgrounds. At the senior center, a nurse will be available to check weights and blood pressures. Kings in the Corner will be played at 9:30 a.m. Jamie will be on hand for chair massages at 9:30 a.m. Wii games will be available in the morning. Chair yoga will start at 10:30 a.m. Art class, mahjongg, and Hand and Foot games will begin at noon. Dominoes will be played after lunch.

On Friday, July 12, various table games will be available in the morning. Indoor bocce ball will begin at 10:30 a.m. Bingo will be played after lunch.

On Monday, July 15, Barb's aerobics class will meet in the Community Building at the fairgrounds. At the senior center, Wii bowling and other games will be available throughout the day. For the first night of the Eureka Fireman's Carnival, the public is invited to visit the center's stand to purchase strawberry or peach smoothies to benefit the center.

On Tuesday, July 16, Barb's aerobics class will not meet due to the carnival. To celebrate the "dog days of summer," the public is invited to bring in pictures of their pets and talk about them. Wii and table games will be available throughout the day. After lunch, Doug will be available to assist with computer issues. The pinochle group will meet at noon. The public is invited to return to the center's carnival stand to purchase smoothies.
